5 stars: I've just started setting up my smart home with a few plugs, 2 dimming light switches, Alexa, and one other app called IFTTT. This small combination, although highly scalable, has given this crippled man amazing control over his home! A LOT can be configured and controlled through this app. Regular updates. Highly recommend TP-LINK hard & software!
4 stars: Fairly useful and quick access to the device. But lack of advanced features makes it much less useful. Need to login through the site to get access to those. So far it's working, though I've had some minor issues where I reconnected and it kept saying only one person could be logged in at a time and it took 5 mins to time the disconnected profile off.
3 stars: I'm generally, I'm happy with it .. I am having some trouble with my router losing connection and needing reboot often & the Tether Lab 'Wifi Detective' feature seems only able to find my phone and the TP-Link router itself ~ but not my laptop (which is wirelessly connected to it and working ~ but, it just doesn't ever find/show it as a connected device, no matter how many times I run the scan) 🤷‍♂️
3 stars: App is ok in general, but the feature of changing the names of devices needs to be improved: it is not intuitive and it doesn't work properly. After changing a device's name, the list of devices don't get updated and keeps showing the default name. Now I have a list of RE550 devices and I don't know which one is which unless I open their own...
