4 stars: The first book was more of a traditional heroes journey whereas this one was much more focused on political and regional interactions. This author is a master at world-building and the writing is excellent. There are so many characters that it can be hard to keep up with all of them and the narrative dragged at certain points in the story. This is still one of the better choice stories. Excellent replayability and the stats work perfectly.

2 stars: The story is good. Didn't like that I get 3/4 through the story only to get locked out of the Romance with the Empress due to stealing the Red Sword of Heaven. Wish there had been some warning for that, now I need to restart the book again.
