5 stars: Really fantastic with some great functions and features. Has been great for studying, exploring, plotting and embarking on some fab walks in Lakeland (was still able to access offline maps on places like High Street in the Lakes), the Peak District and further afield. Well worth the subscription fee. As a keen walker, I wouldn't be without it. Really useful in conjunction with my trusty paper maps amd compass too.
5 stars: Great for quick route checking whilst on your walk. No unfolding/folding if the map. Though it helps to download your route so you don't use all your data or struggle for signal on the hills. It's still important to take your paper map with you as batteries do run out and you might drop your phone. But for planning a walk, and quick reference, it's great.
3 stars: App only shows footpaths in 'Standard map' mode at maximum zoom, which makes it really difficult to plan a walking route on a phone screen. Zoom out even slightly and all the footpaths disappear, though there is plenty of screen space and resolution to show them. Comprehensive rights of way mapping is, for me, the main reason to use OS Maps over Google Maps or OpenStreetMap, so this is a disappointing limitation.
5 stars: Excellent app for planning walks and hikes. I use it a lot for route planning and love the multiple map display types, so you can see where you're going on standard OS maps and satellite views, with others in between. I wouldn't be without this app on my phon...
