5 stars: The Merlin app is nice and easy to use, just take a picture or upload one from your library, then just add date and location if known, if not it doesn't matter and then it will almost certainly find your bird in 99% of cases, and gives other close matches too. I have found this app extremely useful in identifying birds, and has helped me increase my knowledge to identify birds in the field. Also has bird sounds too...
5 stars: As a relative newbie to birding, the Merlin Bird ID App has proven to be an invaluable tool!! The app shows not only just displays the bird you saw based on the photo you've provided, it also shows you the bird as a juvenile, male \u0026 female, bredding, etc...very useful!! I also love that is has an option to hear the bird's song. In my opinion, it's the best bird identification app out there!
5 stars: Great identification algorithms. Excellent pictures. Wonderful bird call recordings. My only (mild) criticism is that the database occasionally does not offer a bird I have identified in a particular region (regional maps are not comprehensive). Also, I wish one could record a personal list of bird sightings.
