4 stars: The app often just doesn't care if I tap on interactive elements. Click to view a feed? Doesn't care. Tap on a message to view replies? Doesn't care. Lots of small UI hiccups that really should have been sorted out for an app that's been available for as long as it has, even in beta. UPDATE. Most recent update has made the app much more responsive. Changed to 4 stars.
3 stars: Definitely has a way to go to be on par with the other more established Social Media apps but it's core functionality works well. I appreciate the level of self moderation it allows (although it does still have bugs; seemingly randomly hiding some content even when flagged as Ok in my personal settings). Ironically, the biggest downside is that there isn't more
2 stars: Trying to type alt text that is more than a sentance or two (such as transcribing text that is in a screenshot) causes the entire app to start lagging severely and overheats the device. Pretty frustrating for an app that has users that demand alt text, makes it kind of not great to use.
2 stars: I really like bluesky, but having to reset my password every time I open the app or browser just so that it will let me log in sucks (and that's if it changing it even works). My info is saved in a password manager, it's the same info every time. I shouldn't be getting 'invalid identifier or password' every single time I open bluesky.
