5 stars: simple and snappy but strategic. love the retro theming and unlockable palettes. if i may offer two bits of feedback, i think the game should, somewhere, tell you how many more levels until you unlock your next class, and i think the healer's ability shouldn't be able to roll a 0 -- with its substantial cooldown, spending tonics only to roll multiple 0s in a row feels unfairly punishing, and rolling a 1 would be a sufficiently bad outcome.
4 stars: I like the art style, and the gameplay is challenging but addicting, with a good ramp up as you unlock/upgrade things. One technical issue I've run into is that the game doesn't autosave your progress during a run, so if you leave the application and come back to it, then the game restarts, which loses the current run you're on.

3 stars: Great idea but you die too much for it to be fun. How about Easy mode where you regenerate half a heart every 10 steps? Monsters attacking sideways feels unfair because you don't have sideways movement, you should get a free attack when meeting a monster sideways. Maybe I just suck too much at it.
