5 stars: OsmAnd app has functioned brilliantly for exploration during trail running, cycling, and motorcycling. The off-grid functionality is very useful, as many of the areas I explore do NOT have reliable cell coverage. I also especially appreciate the ability to easily use a GPX track, which I have created on my PC, then sent to my phone. OsmAnd is the easiest to use of the several similar app I have tried. An easy 5 out of 5 stars.
4 stars: Fantastic. Don't use it for navigation as I use a dedicated car app or inbuilt satnav. But for map quality and features it's great. 1 thing that let's it down badly is map browsing speed, it's far too slow moving around the map.
5 stars: OUTSTANDING i used it in Japan with great results. the track feature is Gold for travelers who dont have language skills. same in u.s. for getting around in unfamiliar cities....but maybe trying too hard to be all things to all users. the track to route works. BUT i would prefer that it would accept where i am as the origin of the route rather than taking me to the beginning of the track...
4 stars: The maps are sensational. They are the best I've worked with. The User Interface on the Android phone and Chromebook is not sufficientally intuitive for friendly use, however.
5 stars: I recently used OsmAnd to navigate Costa Rica. It was an outstanding solution to my navigation needs. I also use this program for overland expeditions and rely on the topographic maps. Excellent product.
