4 stars: I had problems in the past, but if I'm being honest, I was effing around with stuff on my phone. After factoring my phone and reinstalling it, (this process can be confusing and you need to remember to remove requiring the authenticator to log in to your account, BEFORE uninstalling it), it works like a charm. I use it to log into apps though my browser, phone, etc. I don't know what I would use if it went away. So don't go away.
3 stars: Works well for authentication, but don't be fooled about
2 stars: The backup to cloud functionality should be auto turned on after signing in. I assumed it was on as I signed in with my Microsoft account , got a new phone and tried restoring the codes and it was empty, later went to settings and saw cloud backup was off by default, I've lost access to most of my accounts that require codes from this authenticator.
