4 stars: Reinstalled and now it's back to its usual good. Suddenly started freezing during splash screen. Generally a good app but unusable right now! Suddenly the app takes much longer to load and freezes when you navigate back to the main page after reading an article. Articles often don't load or take forever. Not having an issue in any other app (news or other), so I think it's a problem with this one.
4 stars: Well laid out application. I enjoy the print edition on the app, as well as the good contrast in fonts, and the subtle highlighting for alerts. Improvement Needed: Notifications when using night-mode need to adapt to the phone's notification color scheme; currently these notifications are unreadable (white font on white background).
4 stars: Very happy with the content and article suggestions. I wish the text-to-voice to read articles to you was more robust with better clarity and the ability to manually select which passage to re-read instead of having to just hitting the button to move one or two lines at a time.
3 stars: I don't like the layout or colour scheme; it is very bland. I subscribed to WaPo because I believe what WaPo's talented journalists have to say is important. Also, because of its reputation and history. More colour-blocking, easier navigation and more impactful presentation on smartphones I think is important. App: 3 out of 5...bland, multiple clicks required, doesn't flow well.
