4 stars: Really enjoy the videos with native German speakers talking in a 'natural' fashion. It's this that puts it above other language apps I've used. I'd give it 5 stars if there was more in the way of grammar or general explanation of what you learn as you progress through the course. Using both DuoLingo and Memrise together makes up for the deficiencies of the two very different methods.

4 stars: Excellent way to learn or refresh a language. A mixture of written, spoken and visual teaching reinforces learning in a varied and engaging way. My only criticism is that when you make an error, there is a brief warning sound before you are immediately presented with the next word or phrase without having a chance to examine where you went wrong on the previous one.
5 stars: This is honestly the most helpful app I've used! With most apps, I can only remember words or phrases for a short period, but with Memrise, I find that they stick. It does require you to pay after the first lesson, but it's money well spent in my opinion. Use memrise!
5 stars: honestly, i have tried different apps for my spanish learning and by far this is the best learning app !! not gonna lie but the icon size of 'classic review' or 'words and phrases' which comes to the down right of the mobile should decrease....despite that, I'm very happy with it or let's say yo soy muy feliz
