5 stars: I think the app is good, but personally I would love to see on the front page in different squares, so you can tap on it to go onto the rooms you want or items you want to add to that square. Also I have my outside lights set on sunset to come on, but it past my time to go off, which meant they came on and stayed on the other day, so would love to see if they could do something about this.
4 stars: It works overall very well. The UI/UX van still improve, but nothing serious. I still don't understand how certain features work, like changing the style (red, monocrom, colors) during night mode. At least they don't hold back as much as other companies with the features. Although I wish I could connect to other cloud storage providers and not only their paid service. Overall, it is a nice product.
3 stars: Shortcuts and automation only work sometimes. I have a DIY alarm set up with all tapo devices, and it's frustrating when the shortcuts/automation (100% done properly and all criteria being met) don't work as I have them set up. It causes my alarm to go off when opening a door, though it should be disarmed per the shortcuts/automation.
2 stars: The 3.0 UI changed how it plays back the recorded camera video under the hood.
