4 stars: It works, but that's it.. I honestly hope that Google will know day make a more robust photography experience with their Camera App. Add controls you could use like a DSLR/Mirrorless and let the user actually experience how difficult it is to capture a great image with out software doing the heavy lifting in the background.
3 stars: What happened to this app? it used to take the snappiest photos with some killer post processing, now it's just a laggy mess that lacks past features. For example, where the hell did the Google lens section go? I would use that rather often and now it's gone without a word.
3 stars: Google sincerely screwed up pinch and zoom in the last update. I don't know if it's specific to the OS upgrade, but definitely you can't pinch and zoom with the same ease as you did before and you have to put that one finger in the corner to start to move and then zoom with a separate finger. Really is a step back in terms of user joy and usability is worse.
2 stars: The camera works, as expected. The focus isn't good when it's zoomed it (become grainy). Also in 1/8x for the slow motion camera, it flickers when recording and when not recording, it screen goes from saturated to being desaturated. This doesn't happen with 1/4x and has never been a problem before I updated the camera to the newest update (after April 2nd).
