3 stars: the new max app completely froze my phone when I first attempted it. I restarted my phone via a hard reset and it froze again. it seems to be working well now. as I haven't had any issues since the second hard reset. my one complaint about thr app is that it is difficult to get to the episode list while you're watching the stream. max could also benefit from a
2 stars: Needs a lot of work. Doesn't remember where you left off in what you were watching, shows are scattered all over the place, thanks to killing off the hubs, and it blows through battery power like a hurricane. Like the TV Guide debacle a couple of years ago, this is a pre-beta app, released as feature complete. However, video and audio playback are good, so it gets a star for that.
2 stars: Less than optimal app - very buggy. Running on a Pixel 7 Pro and the pause button and information screen pops up every thirty seconds or so, as if I was touching the screen (when I am not - it is just sitting on a stand). I am not happy with the change when the old app worked just fine. They should have just re-branded it instead of building a worse app from the ground up.
