5 stars: One of the best apps I use for learning Mandarin. I love listening to the short stories while reading along with the Chinese characters. You can turn pinyin on or off which displays above of the Chinese characters. You can slow down or speed up the story recordings to fit your preference. Very easy to use. I highly recommend Du Chinese.
5 stars: This app is great. I'm at a newbie level and it's nice to be able to listen to stories that I can understand at least 80%. Plus, I like that each new chapter of a story will repeat a lot of words from the chapter before but with slight variations in sentence structure. This app is so helpful for taking in Chinese effortlessly without having to expend too much effort. You can turn pinyin on and off, as well as the translations.
4 stars: Love this app! Great for reading practice. I especially like that the pinyin isn't automatically shown all the time, because it can be a bit of a crutch. Also love that you can save hard words to review later! Only disappointing thing is that a lot of the content is premium, but I understand that they need to make money. Wish there was an option to watch ads to unlock content, though.
4 stars: Excellent app. Tried it for a while. Shame it's £12.49 a month. I would pay £7 a month or £50 a year.
