5 stars: I could NOT get the app to record tracks.....it would stop recording when the screen times out. Go to location settings and grant the app
5 stars: Best overall. This is the perfect mix between OSM and commercial, plus highly customizable in features, look and feel. Some others may do certain specific things better but Locus does everything best in one package. The online planning tool is a perfect example for added value that makes it worth the subscription.
4 stars: It's a very good app and easy to use but since a time the map is completely gone black and beside the small icons you only see black or white squares...
3 stars: Newer Version never dissapoints to dissapoint. If you are new to Locus, just look out for something else. EDIT= I dislike monthly subscriptions which locus now tries to push. The way you handle maps not through folders but instead Locus really annoys me. Furthermore I dislike the way you develop your ways of monetization its been worsening ever since I got into Locus
2 stars: It seems like it would be very good, but it appears to be missing three crucial things. 1. There appears to be no easy way to add pins to the map, for camp sites or POI etc. 2. There doesn't appear to be an online browser based route creation tool I can use on my PC, like AllTrails or ViewRanger. 3. There doesn't appear to be a way to switch between map and satellite view. I'd happily try it again if these features were added.
