5 stars: Great presentation. I love the high resolution, the widescreen aspect ratio (that fills up my entire Galaxy S22 Ultra display!), the quality of life improvements (including saves and spin dash) and the extras (including Tails and Knuckles as playable characters). Just beware that if you have a 120 Hz display with adaptive refresh, you might notice some stutter. I switched to 60 Hz, and now the game runs smooth as butter.
5 stars: In my opinion, this is the best way to play Sonic 1. Christian Whitehead did an amazing job, and everything about it is almost perfect. My only small complaint is that I feel as if the adds come up way too often.
4 stars: To everyone saying the controls are terrible, I was thinking that at first also but it was because i was trying to use the left touchpad like an analog stick. If you just tap left and right and up and down like buttons instead it is actually quite responsive. Might be the most responsive I've seen in a mobile game yet.
2 stars: Nice attempt, but touchscreen controls will never even come close to a controller, no matter how hard you try. Played 1-1 on my Genesis, completed the level with ease, then tried 1-1 on your port and could barely manage to keep Sonic moving in the right direction. Please stop trying to port the classics to touchscreen devices, it'll never work right. I'm uninstalling this.
