5 stars: Essentially, this is Sid Meier's Civilization V, entirely ported over to mobile. The original game is among the greatest strategy games ever created, and Unciv is reflective of that. Very time-consuming, very complex, incredibly interesting game. The fact that this app is available for free with no ads whatsoever is mind-blowing. This would be a very worthwhile purchase if this app cost $20 - getting it for free is insane value.
4 stars: This version isn't as robust as the original game (no trade caravans or religious aspects, yet). But it runs very smoothly and you can go through a standard game a lot faster since you're not waiting for your turn late in the game like on the original. The game also doesn't use ANY data.
