5 stars: For a long time, the app was functionally bad, gradually improving to mediocre. But with the latest update, it's actually quite good. Finally, it has browsing by country/director/decade, and it does an even better job surfacing its content and noting when things are rolling off the service. The app's functionality is finally worthy of its superb content -- not only is Filmstruck full of excellent movies, they're also presented in useful and interesting ways with interesting and educational original featurettes.
5 stars: Unfortunately this app did not work on my Moto X Pure Edition with Android Marshmallow. It opened to a black screen and freezes. Edit Dec 1st 2017: Updated to Nougat 7.0 on said device and I still cannot open the app. Black screen, no content. Edit Dec 11 2017: Just reinstalled the app and it open and runs beautifully, very snappy, good UI. Better experience than watching it on my laptop by a longshot. Whoever is behind the app now, they did an excellent job. Thanks.
4 stars: Good app, some interesting films. My one complaint is that it won't allow you to paste your password in the Android version on a Samsung Tab S3. I use a password manager and I can't possibly use a secure randomly-generated password.
