3 stars: Pros: Renting movies from the Cineplex store is less expensive than iTunes (with the same 30 days/48 hours rental period) and I get Scene points. Cons: I prefer to use it on my Xbox One but the app flat out refuses to work with either of the media remotes that I have (one first-party and one third-party). Also, the app has crashed quite a few times for no apparent reason.
2 stars: This app really is a terrible user experience. You rent a movie and cannot play it, with just an error about the session token being approved. I only give it two stars because I discovered that once you start the movie in a web browser, the error in this app magically goes away for a while. There's something very wrong with their DRM handover for streaming.
2 stars: It almost never works as an app on my phone. I can log-in fine and even rent movies. But the player is awful. Sometimes it will play, but stalls a lot. Most times it just doesn't load and sends me error messages. I recommend using the website on a laptop/desktop computer. It seems to work smoothly that way most times. Though it still occasionally will stall lots through a film.
