4 stars: I think it's a good way to learn russian and other languages. I would like it if I could do multiple lessons a day though as I have done 2 of my 5 weekly goal and it won't let me do anymore. This app is best paired with Duolingo as they both teach you different words at different times.
3 stars: The app is quite engaging, although the exercises are rather simplistic. The real-time voice recognition is very glitchy with my WiFi connection, which is slow but still serviceable. More often than not, it will continue recording well after I have stopped speaking, or it will stop recording while I am still speaking. Both times I get a failure message...very frustrating.
5 stars: I am relearning Russian. I took two years of Russian in high school from a native Russian speaker. I learned to love the language. That was over 50 years ago. While I remember very little of my vocabulary and grammar, slowly this app is restoring my understanding as well as my pronunciation. Three lessons in and I am learning things about the language that I never learned while I studied under Mrs. Sandmanis. Very exciting.
5 stars: I'm using Babbel+ in conjunction with Duolingo and Rosetta Stone. My German has improved enormously as a consequence. I do highly recommend you actually do an intense course up to at least B1 level, and then use these apps to practice, train and develop.
