St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba organized the First Egyptian Coptic Festival in June, 2006 to celebrate the Holy Family’s flight to Egypt and to provide an entertaining awareness venue to present and promote the Egyptian Coptic Heritage to Canadians.
The Festival started by small committee of talented and inspired members of the Coptic congregation in Winnipeg. Each year has a different spiritual theme that is presented within different interactive and entertaining activities. The Festival takes place over two days in June of every year, as it is the month of when the Holy Family’s flight to Egypt where they lived there for three years.
