3 stars: About time to let people customize the Google app properly. The news items it comes up with are hilarious at times. I think you'll find most people want to see things they're actually interested in and in the area they live in and news. Left swipe from launcher should allow customize to use news app so you can actually see news rather than adverts.

3 stars: Google and related apps all work. However there is an issue involving google accounts. On my account things like YouTube have really low volume where as on another account on the same phone the volume is like it should be. This started last month and looking at it others have experienced this same issue around the same time as I have but there has been no fix yet. Please fix this.
3 stars: I live in the UK and I know I have to use English (US) to be able to use the latest Google Assistant. However it does not respond to my queries verbally; it only does so when I ask it a joke. I tried various things like turning speech output to Fill response instead of the concise response option. Opting back to English (UK) works but obviously it will revert back to the old assistant.
