5 stars: A very useful aop to handle phone calls. I use it all the time when calling abroad, don't need a subscription. The caller ID option is a great help, just discovered it. One thing's tricky for me. Adding a new contact. I really don't like Skype accessing my phone's contact list, because it messes up the interface I'm used to on the phone, otherwise Five stars for everything
4 stars: The call was stable with good audio quality. 18 months ago I was almost ready to give up on Skype because of dropped calls and fade-outs but it is much better recently. I still wish it would not make that loud hooting noise when I initiate a call. Even for incoming calls, when some sort of a ring is necessary, a more discrete tone would be much less obnoxious.
3 stars: My online status constantly changes back to Active, no matter how many times I change it to Away or Invisible it always goes back to Active leading friends/family to think im online when I'm not. Also, when a message notification comes to my phone the option to reply from the notification in the drop down menu does not work. Ever. It might as well not be there. Old skype was great. New skype, not so much.
3 stars: Remember when Skype was the consumer VoIP calling app of choice, because it was easy to understand, easy to use, free for Skype-to-Skype users, and excellently priced for Skype-to-phone calls? Other than the last bit, the new Skype app is anything but easy especially for non-tech savvy users. Why?
