2 stars: SMS Backup & Restore apk download - What did y'all do?!?! I used to be able to select what messages to backup, but the last update makes its own choice. So, now I have to backup messages I DON'T want, just to make sure I'm not missing one I DO want!! **UPDATE ** It's slightly better. I have to either schedule a backup or take several minutes to go thru all the settings to pick the conversations I want to backup. It's still WAY too user unfriendly compared to previous versions.
5 stars: SMS Backup & Restore apk download - so, everything's great, but, I was thinking... why so much duplicates in backups, since there's such a thing as git. I mean, the calls or smss I had yesterday won't change, but android didn't learn (yet?) from it's devs about iteration in backup... and the backup file itself it's a list... I'd love to see and use a git service integration in an app like this, and, why not, even database integration plugins, sql or nosql... i'd totally pay for a plugin like that. what do you think?
2 stars: - Using cellular data despite settings. Couldn't figure out what was killing all my data. Went into Android's data settings and found that this app had used 551mb of background cellular data within about 18 days. That costs me $$$. Went into the app's backup settings and confirmed that it is set to only upload over WiFi. Guess I'm going to have to uninstall.
3 stars: - Great backup, but never succeeds with a scheduled, unattended backup. Every week, the app blithely reports its next scheduled backup is x days in the past. I then have to initiate a backup and shepherd the uploading of the backup files to Google (where I choose to store my backups). However, I should point out these backups really work. I've restored them to a new phone and it's great. So, kudos on th...
