5 stars: I put the TextNow app on the tablet I use at home. Calls are just as clear as making them from a phone. I switched from the free-with-ads version to the fewer ads $1.99 version about 6 months ago. It works, but many of the ads are larger & more distracting than expected. I wish the no-ads version wasn't so expensive. Either way, this is a great app & I really appreciate it.

4 stars: I recommend TextNow to anyone looking for an inexpensive alternative as a back up phone line or as your primary one. With a good wifi connection, send and receive text messages, or call whoever you want. With poor wifi , calls won't go thru or app won't function properly. That is why I give four stars. With the app and a phone line free what did you expect ?
4 stars: Hi! Update on my experience with the app! I'm enjoying it very much! It's such a nice way to have a number without any expensive phone bill. Of course the ads kinda suck but I get that there has to be ads to keep the app free. One thing is I wish I can call and text without Internet or a sim card, but that's kinda unrealistic 😅. Overall great concept and very good app!
