5 stars: While I agree with others that it's more fiddly than previously as Duo, my family and I have had no problems with it since set-up and have had some great calls with good quality. Obviously it was easier just to click the camera icon previously, next to the Contact name, and I don't know why Google changed that but it does what it's meant to and that's all I want. Don't know if we are just lucky but it's (so far anyway) a 10/10 for us 😀.
4 stars: Update: Works much better, without all the problems. Frustrating. I use this app so I can see and talk to my grandkids, which pretty much doesn't work out for us. For us, the video and audio are terrible. We can only have a convo if their phone remains perfectly still and they don't get close to it. Pretty hard to do with a 3 yr old. Isn't there a better call app out there?
4 stars: The app works great. Picture and audio perform flawlessly except for an occasional out sync between audio and video. You can't take snapshots during video for some reason, like you are able to on Facebook Messenger. There are not as many filters or backgrounds that are available on other video meeting apps such as Zoom. This app is very basic but performs flawlessly most of the time.
