4 stars: It's the Netflix of Audiobooks. Good selection, with a decent amount of new and popular books considering the price. My only beef is that the book covers are always so small! I often want to look at book covers full screen, but it's so small it's difficult to read whatever text is on the cover. Edit: it drives me bonkers not being able to finely tune the speed of the audiobooks... 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 speed would be wonderful.
3 stars: Good, but not great. It's a bit frustrating that not many books are available to review in lists. It's also extremely frustrating that searches can't be done by the length of books in over 20hr books or 10-20hrs. These search features are lacking. Also frustrating that I can't permanently set audiobooks and not regular books.
3 stars: I have had Scribd for years now. Love it when it's working properly. Recently when I'm listening to a book it stops and when I start it again it starts at a random spot instead of where I was. It is getting very annoying as I end up spending more time looking for where I was than actually listening the book.
2 stars: I agree with the other critical reviews. It appears that the app cannot even play the audiobook sample in the background. It turned off when the screen turns. That is a very bad experience for the user. No one wants to waste the battery by leaving the display on while listening to an audio book. Is this how the real app works?
