5 stars: An excellent source of very accessible news. Notifications are well managed, and text formatting is perfect for cell phone reading. Story presentation makes it easy to get as much or as little as you want from each notification, and the audio option is probably a very helpful option for some users.
4 stars: Great app, very readable, customizable sections and offline downloading. Would be helpful to have icons that show which articles have been successfully downloaded and are available, and also which articles are just video, rather than opening them up individually and finding out. Also helpful would be the option to customize notifications, differentiating between breaking news and the more in-depth articles that get announced
4 stars: Absolutely enjoy the integration of Google News and the Globe and Mail app. Allows to scan current news items then look for related Globe and Mail articles. The
3 stars: I am disappointed that even with a subscription, the articles still have ads. There's also issues with audio in the app. When I play a podcast, it continues to play while you navigate the app (which is fine) but there's no way to stop it once you leave the podcast page. The NYTs app is much better in my opinion.
2 stars: Really poor functionality for an app from a legitimate business. Saving articles used to be questionable but now the function is completely gone. There are articles from months ago that still appear on main pages. No dark mode. Audio ...
