3 stars: App only shows footpaths in 'Standard map' mode at maximum zoom, which makes it really difficult to plan a walking route on a phone screen. Zoom out even slightly and all the footpaths disappear, though there is plenty of screen space and resolution to show them. Comprehensive rights of way mapping is, for me, the main reason to use OS Maps over Google Maps or OpenStreetMap, so this is a disappointing limitation.
5 stars: Great for walking and exploring. Look for others' routes and easily create your own with dustance and ascent. Download sections of map for use when signal is poor. Only negative I have found is when trying to record a route live. The app goes to sleep and loses the route, also if you accidentally close the app. Overall fantastic value and service.
3 stars: Premium features stopped working for me. Subscription due soon, can't see the point of renewing!😠. Edited, premium features was still working using a browser - so definitely app related (checked on android phone and tablet). Couple of days later working again. OS maps are fantastic, but still to be convinced by reliability of the app.
5 stars: Update: I have this working properly now. There was a problem zooming when offline on the free version but it's much better on the subscription version, as now I have the maps of intermediate scale, so I can see what I'm doing by zooming out onto the landranger map (which I can't on free version as I only have explorer paper maps).
