3 stars: Much better than previous versions with multiple apps but still some oddities that need to be worked out. I primary listen to the audio edition - it is baffling to me that the closest speed options to 1x are 0.5x and 1.5x. why is there no 1.1x or 1.2x - a far more useful speed to listen at?? This is a core frustration and partly why podcast players still feel superior.
5 stars: Assuming you're paying the economist directly and just using this app to access the content (not using Google pay) I highly suggest. The app is slick, simple, easy to navigate, and reliable. I really like the option to play audio for the articles with actual narrators reading (in generally wonderful soothing accents) :) and the embedded content from their various other podcasts.
