5 stars: Perfect app for a surveyor or an environmental scientist to visualize projects in the field so long as maps are georeferenced. Only other feature I use is tracking to know where I've gone. Would be great if they developed a feature to take pics and record notes so we wouldn't have to use other software. But it's good enough on it's own with what it is right now.
3 stars: Seems to be the industry standard for viewing and navigating with georeferenced pdf's, the Android version is much better than apple (can zoom in farther). Things that would be super cool to add: editing lines, different icons for point features, and the ability to navigate from your location to a point (measure tool works adequately for this, but not the best) similar to a Garmin GPS's \
5 stars: I give 5 because the free version is: 1- available on ios and Android, 2- simple to use, 3- what I see on my screen is the same paper map I use, 4- can add photos to way points (from camera or album). Considering upgrading. Hoping it will include more versatile feature attributes and I know I will use the option of converting lines to area. Would love to be able to import aerial imagery.
4 stars: just getting started with avenza. it sure has proven handy. for example it allows you to 'bush whack' between trails not having to worry about going in the wrong direction. it's easy to import maps. overall great experience so far. I've only used it a few times fyi.
