5 stars: Very useful app to have on the field. Helps you find birds that you otherwise could have missed. I find myself using this every time I go birding. It also helped me get familiar with more bird calls/songs that now I can identify by myself as soon as I hear them. Very highly recommended for beginner as well as experienced birders.
4 stars: The photo ID is excellent. The sound ID was awesome when it worked but it stopped working a couple of weeks ago on my android. It still works great on my iPad but I'm not taking that into the field. I still highly recommend this app. Hopefully they fix the issue on Android phones soon.
4 stars: It's pretty good at identifying birds. If I was going to change anything, I'd give users an opportunity to submit the correct bird when the app gets it wrong. Ex: last week the app couldn't identify an oriole by sound even though I could clearly see the bird. The species catalog I selected for my area didn't include an oriole as an option. Other than that, it's a great app with a ton of cool info for bird watchers.
3 stars: Really enjoying the sound ID aspect of this app. Somehow it is able to ignore non-bird sounds and still provide an ID. It's not always right so it's good to be cautious about some suggestions but it's great at getting the ear to move off the birds I've already ID'ed and move on to others that are singing but I just haven't picked up yet. The thing that I really don't like about this app is how often it gives me...
