5 stars: One of the best written CYOA games I've had the fortune of playing. There are some pacing issues, and if there's one notable flaw it's that the author didn't utilise the game mechanics very well. There were very few relevant ability checks and the stats seldom seemed to matter. The story however is deeply compelling, and the prose is amazing. I love the ubiquitous historical references, and am excited to play the next installment

4 stars: Overall a good story. The pronouns of your companions were CONSTANTLY incorrect, and there were a few inconsistencies in the story (ie people talking when they were no longer with you, or people who were with you suddenly not seeming to be there for long stretches), but still a good read.
2 stars: This app needs to figure out a way to save progress or rollback choices. You can play through almost an entire book of text, make *one* poor choice, and have to restart an entire game. There's a ton of great material written by talented writers here; it's a shame it's being wasted on such a dated, frustrating interface. I haven't bought another book...
