4 stars: Excellent, with some annoyances. This is exactly what I was looking for in terms of function and form. Apps panel? Check. Widgets panel? Check. With this, my home screen is completely bare! However, it seems that, so far, there will be random times when Panels forgets that I have certain apps installed, or it will rearrange things out of nowhere. Without those issues, I'd rate this five stars! (Pixel 5, Lineage OS, rooted)
