5 stars: Since the update, the app is working great for me! Just a heads up, for the whole program, you need a subscription. But the book is great, my study plan is awesome and the tutors are really helpful. So for anyone serious about language study, I would recommend it. For those slackers out there, stick with Duolingo.
5 stars: great alternative to duolingo. Very strict on exact answers, and less audio than would be hoped for, but it has a better progress of learning system and better kanji adaptation as well as not allowing romanji for the most part. It has clear levels based on an official system and a lot of content overall. Highly recommend over any unspecialized language learning app like busuu, mango, Rosetta stone, or duolingo.
5 stars: Perfect! This is the only app that truly explains things and takes it slow for newbies. I'm actually learning. I tried duolingo, but they use no explanations and just throw you into it. This is a truly amazing app, and I hope to become fluent in Japanese now.
5 stars: So far one of the best apps I've found to actually explain grammar and structure from the beginning. Requiring that I type my responses in Japanese slows things down a bit, but is probably good practice in the long run.
