3 stars: Awkward, poorly designed interface. Particular care needs to be taken when browsing in a selected section lest you be taken to an adjacent area. Can't navigate around within a section to subsection. E.g., go to Sports. If MLB or Nats isn't selected by the app editor, no way to transition to MLB news. Study the NYT app for how to improve the WaPo app.
4 stars: Excellent resource for top tier reporting of our world. App design is not so great. To make such an effort producing an unbelievable podcast and then bury it to the degree that it's easier to find on Google than in the app is perplexing. Wapo has one of the best podcasts around. It should be easily accessible through the app.

For example, see NYT's Most Popular by rank and Opinion section in reverse chronological order. Makes for easier navigation. I'm using an Android tablet. Maybe it's different on iPad or Windows,
3 stars: I'm amazed that an article with italicized annotations, parenthetical comments, hyperlinks, and endnotes could also have room for flashing adds that can take up to as much as 80% of the screen. Good luck clicking around them or understanding the precision journalism. I immediately regret paying for a year subscription.
