3 stars: Not available in North Vancouver, noticed the prices are NOT similar to ridesharing services, e.g. Uber in Edmonton is $2.75 + 0.25/min + 0.85/km vs Kater in Vancouver $3.25 + 0.56/min + $1.88/km, so for a 10k 20m ride its over twice the price...why?
5 stars: Definitely worth trying. I've only had positive experiences thus far with this service. Can definitely benefit from more cars and a wider variety of cars, but for my requirements, they have been fine with the Hyundai Hybrids they've been using.
5 stars: It is essentially a glorified taxi. However, it's a great, new alternative that the City desperately needs. Every trip I have taken has had a driver committed to excellent customer service, a clean, well maintained car, and a consistently positive experience. With Uber and Lyft, you still never know what experience you'll get. I used to use both in Chicago where I am originally from. I am a fan of Kater.
4 stars: App works, cars are clean, drivers are great. One star off for lack of cars
5 stars: I have used it 3 times this week with no problems so far. All rides arrived within 5 minutes. Hopefully you scale up appropriately with enough drivers as the demand grows.
5 stars: This app is backed by the best of breed technology for distributed systems. Best of all, it was developed here in Vancouver where those approaches were invented 10 years ago.
