3 stars: In the old app, you could see friends online, and message them. Now I need to use the inferior steam chat, a separate app? That's annoying. Sure, the new UI is pretty, bit we haven't gained any functionality, we lost some. Edit: the friends list is just a little buried. If like for it to be available as a tab at the bottom, as checking who is online is my most commonly used function when using this app.
2 stars: The old STEAM application had everything needed: store, library, authenticator, friends, and chat. It was industrial in design, but fully functional.
