3 stars: For a group messaging app, I guess I expect more now in 2020 (reactions on messages, reply to messages within chat). I also have had to uninstall and reinstall multiple times because it stopped sending notifications for new messages even though settings were set to receive notifications. It is not my messaging app of choice, merely what was decided for some of the groups.
5 stars: My fantasy football game uses the app to chat and good off. At first I thought it was dumb and we should just use group text but it's nice to have easy access to the conversations and not lose the thread in a sea of messages. Nice I can mute the group when I need time away (aka, my favorite team lost and I get endlessly mobbed).
4 stars: I like this. I'm wish it would let you choose a different sounds to assign to each person individually so you can tell who's messaging you or who's saying something within the group message without actually looking at the app. That way I know how urgent it is that I look to see what was said.
5 stars: Works well and had no issues with it. Edit: It has now been 8 or 9 months since I got groupme and just in the last few weeks I have stopped receiving notifications about new messages. I have just been told to unistall and reinstall groupme to get it to start working again. It is used by my Fire Department as means to talk with other members with waiting for meetings, texting, emailing, etc. Other than that one issue no problems.
