5 stars: I'm using Memrise to help me learn Japanese, and I love it! It's not a replacement for talking to someone who knows the language, but it's a great introduction and supplement! It really helped me learn hiragana and katakana at the beginning. I also LOVE the immersion videos! So fun and creative, and really great for teaching those situations that would be tricky to teach via text on a screen.
3 stars: This app is funny and not hard to use. This will give you simple sentences repeatly. So you could speak and memorize that ones over and over again. Of course, you will get it inside your head. I think it is kind of Duoling style. One bad thing is you should see some promotion pop up windows. Yeah, there is not free lunch man. I understand it.
5 stars: Excellent e-learning language app. A good variety of interactivity types. Good use of repetition, really helps make words and phrases stick in your memory. Highly recommend. Nice plant analogy for the journey, I.e. The plant grows a little each time you complete activities. Very reasonably priced for paid options.
5 stars: Amazing for being free. It's only £134 for your whole lifetime or around £2 for a year if you decide to go pro...and the recourses aren't limited. I like the fact you're not just surrounded by automated responses and audio. Real people, real voices, at a real pace.
