5 stars: Google voice let me keep my easy to remember when I moved to a different state. Now that long distance calling is effectively a thing of the past, it's great. Text messages are great because it's easy to get it on a computer or phone, using both simultaneously. Overseas calling is inexpensive and let's me do it from my cell phone without paying expensive per minute fees from my cell provider.
4 stars: I like this app. It works pretty well most of the time. But sometimes it struggles to keep calls connected and others don't hear me well. This app has been a better experience than others that do similar for me. When I have no service it allows me to get in contact with others over wifi so people know I'm okay. It's worth it to keep and use as needed.
4 stars: Works well, my biggest complaint is that it constantly insists that you need to link the app to your phone number. I use this as a replacement for visual voicemail so linking it to my phone number isn't an option as I require call forwarding to the Voice number so it will function the way I want. The insistence that I link it is a little irritating.
4 stars: Excellent way to communicate with parents without giving out your personal phone number. After sending out a few messages, I was suspended without notice.
