5 stars: Pretty solid (and free) mastering for your mixes. As a new artist I spent a lot of time trying to master my own mix (which is ill advised, you need someone elses ears for your music). For my my first song I tried several online masters and one sound engineer to do his master. After comparison of 5 different masters (one being my own), I gotta say: Bandlab is pretty good for a free mastering service.
4 stars: The midi instruments like drums and synth/keys are great, the D.A.W. is easy to use once you figure it out. The only drawback is recording real guitars and bass on the phone version. Not a fan of having to record with my phone mic. Plus it means that late night guitar /bass recordings need an external recording device, unless you're us browser app on a chromebook or something like that.
4 stars: This is the best beat app I've ever used. It's amazing that it's a free app and you can actually make real beats that are really professional like. It lacks instruction I had to play around with it for a couple hours and found out by accident how to use. It could be better that's why I give it 4 stars and not five. Great app!
5 stars: This app is completely amazing. It's awesome, not only the music making part but you also get to connect with other people from all over the world. Thank you creators of band lab. However you should add an option to highlight notes on the piano roll when you edit notes, so it's easier to move notes in a group.
