4 stars: The game offers quite a bit for free. Requires some skill at times (battles and throwing poke balls) which is nice. I wish that the match making for battles was random instead of setup like it seems to be currently. Gift giving/recieving is kind of a slow painful task. I also think throw stats would be very cool to have (how many nice, great excellent throws you've made). Overall fun game that I keep coming back to.
4 stars: The game play is fantastic and there is always something to do, more challenges, tasks or Pokemon. The reliability is awful. The game freezes constantly, refuses to load, or only partially loads, sometimes on the load screen but also when you think it has loaded when it leaves you with roads but no stops, gyms or Pokemon. If it was only in bad weather or an occasional glitch I wouldn't even mention it but it is every single day.
4 stars: Fun enough to keep around on my phone. Been playing it since around the time it released, but there's been very little change in regards to gameplay over the years, and at a point you hit a severe wall with leveling and gaining items. At one point it just becomes a straight up grind and it's no longer the sort of game I go out of my way to play, I just turn it on when my friends play it.
