3 stars: One of the best messaging apps and services out there, but fatally compromised in a few entirely avoidable ways due to developer hubris and ego. For instance, there are no third-party clients. This means, among other issues, * If you want to use Signal on an unsupported platform, tough luck! * If you don't like the existing theming options, tough luck! * If you want to use multiple Android devices with the same account, tough luck!
2 stars: App is generally great but has seemingly unresolvable issues with push notifications as well as atrocious voice call quality. UPDATE: The buttons on the call screen keep disappearing while I'm on a call and won't come back. Happening since the last update, no idea why or how to fix it. I can't switch to speakerphone or end a call. Astounding.
2 stars: Has really gone down hill. It was awesome but the last year or so there are constant issues delivering messages. Not delivered for a long time. Now I frequently get a message saying you may have messages and it's trying to load. It's set to not optimized, always have data even when on battery saver, there is no reason for delayed messages in the settings.
